Weapon Commands

The fire control interface allows you to load, target and fire your ships weapons.

This ship has two weapons, your ship may have more or less. The important things to note here are the dark grey progress bar and the buttons.

The progress bar shows the weapon load status. The first weapon in the picture shows its status is "Loading" and the progress bar shows that it is nearly done, so it will probably be loaded and ready to fire on the next turn. The second weapon shows its status as "Not loading/ready". That means this weapon is empty and idle — most likely it was just fired this turn, so now it is empty, but no one has started to load it yet.

The buttons below each weapon allow you to:

Load: this issues an order to load the weapon. The message bar (at the bottom of the screen) should acknowledge your command. Next turn, you will see the status of this weapon update to "Loading" and the progress bar will show the eta.

Target: targetting takes no time so you can load and target on the same turn or you can target and fire on the same turn. You cannot load and fire on the same turn. Clicking the "Target" button will change your mouse cursor to a red crosshair icon. You should then find the enemy ship you want to target on the game board and click on it. The red crosshair cursor should be replaced with the normal cursor and the text below the weapon will show the name of the targeted ship ("Follower of the Light" in this case).

Fire: once the weapon is loaded and it has a target, the "Fire" button will become available. This one is self explanatory. Click this and you will issue a command to fire the weapon. Next turn you will see a missile heading for the target.
