Repair Commands

The Damage Control panel shows you the damage that has been sustained by all the various subsystems on your ship. It also allows you to assign repair teams to those systems to keep them operating.

This ship has several subsystems. Fortunately none of them has yet sustained damage. If they had, the green progress bar under the system would show the extent of the damage. An empty progress bar indicates that that system has been destroyed and may not be repairable.

Damage to subsystems affects the performance of that system. Damage reactors will cause all of your ships systems to work less effectively. Damaged engines will affect speed and helm control, etc.

Most ships have teams of engineers on board to fix problems as soon as possible. The number of engineering repair teams that you have on board is shown at the top of this panel (three in this case).

Below each system is a set of push buttons. Clicking a button will assign that number of teams to that system for repairs. The button will stay in a "clicked" position to tell you that there are that number of teams assigned to that system. You will also get messages each turn on the repair progress.

You cannot repair the hull. Repairing the hull requires being outside the ship with heavy metal work and tools and is not practical during a battle. So if the hull is destroyed, the ship is destroyed. All other subsystems can be repaired as long as they are not completely destroyed.
