Create A Game

Creating your own battle gives you the best flexibility in getting what you want. You can set the battle parameters, and you can invite your friends.

To create a battle, click on Engage New Battle from the menu on the left side of the screen.

You can then enter the name for the battle. You can give it any name you like, but its best to give it a descriptive name, or maybe an artful name like "Battle of Trafalgar" :)

You can also select the "era" in which your battle will take place. Though currently only one game era is available.

You can then choose the type of battle:
One on one: You against one other player
Free for all: many players in a deathmatch to see who survives
Team Play: (*coming soon)

You can set the number of players to be in the game. It is best to set a range here because you will not be allowed to start the game until the minimum number of players has signed up. Two to four players is the most common, but you can put whatever you want here.

Next you need to decide if this is a public or private match. If it is private, then only people you specifically invite will be able to join. If it is public, then the game will show up on the "browse games" list and anyone can join. Spectators will be able to watch public games as well (*coming soon).

Last is the command point limit. This limits the size of the fleets that will be allowed in the battle. This does not eliminate players with larger fleets, it just means they will only be able to use a portion of their fleet in the battle. This keeps things at a level playing field. If you want to be challenged, then go ahead and set this to a value higher than your fleet size to get stronger players to fight you. Starting Ensigns receive 1000 command points, so that is a good starting point.
